My heated grips seem to work fine with the GrabOn covers. I've rarely use higher than the lower setting.
As for water absorption, they appear to be closed-cell foam. So, they aren't a sponge.

Ray, you described the RS perfectly. It does, in fact, do everything so well, as is. I think I used that term because I saw it so much on the Euro forum, lol. Most of my mods to the RS have been in the function category, except for the Remus (I just like the look and noise)
