2024 Euro Hoon - af1-windy - 01-03-2024

Just putting the finishing touches to our Euro Hoon.

I do all the organising, routes, ferry crossing from the UK, hotels etc.

Only 3 of us this year, I can't seem to get any commitment from my fellow riding buddies so I've decided just to let them have the details and if they want to join they can sort it out themselves.

We'll be sailing from Hull to Euro Port in Rotterdam and starting from there. Fist day is a bummer, long slog on the motorway but needs must. It's usually not bad, we're all hyped up about the trip and in good spirits.

Rotterdam to Bovec and back.

Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, France & Belgium.

Estimated mileage 2000 (includes a few hundred miles exploring Slovenia)

Day 1- Thursday 27th. Rotterdam to Munich, 525 miles, a big day, mostly Motorway, but it's not like UK motorways, and we'll be hyped up for the trip.

Day 2 - Friday 28th. Munich to Bovec, 250 miles, mostly twisty.

Days 3 & 4 - Saturday & Sunday 29th/30th based in Bovec, explore the area or have a day off, each to their own, but there looks to be some great roads and scenery, maybe a couple of low mileage days.

Day 5 - Monday 1st Bovec to Nauders, Austria 250 miles

Day 6 - Tuesday 2nd Nauders, Austria to Strasbourg, France 260 miles (hopefully, stop off in Konstanz, Germany for lunch)

Day 7 - Wednesday 3rd Strasbourg to Rotterdam for the ferry home

Day 8 - Thursday 4th Hull 8:30am.. back to the shitty UK roads and drivers.. [Image: 32.png]

If there's anything that you're not sure about, please let me know so I can adjust or adapt the route, times, mileage etc.

RE: 2024 Euro Hoon - colirv - 01-03-2024

Looks great, except the mileage per day would be far too high for us. We've found German motorways slower than most UK ones, due to roadworks and accidents. We've had to filter (lane split) for nearly 20 miles before now, and considered ourselves lucky that the lanes on that occasion hadn't been narrowed. Still, as they say, YMMV!

We're off with some friends into the Vosges, Jura and Alps in July. A mere 1,500 miles in two weeks!

God, I envy you guys over there. Sounds like a wonderful trip ... and you can do it without paying the big bucks that people over here have to pay to go on these guided tours.

2 nights on the ferry, 3 hotels and an entire house that sleeps up to 10 in Bovec, for 3 nights. £565.00 total.

Just fuel and food on top of this..

Big Grin

it's a chance we'll have to take to do what we want to do, I've always found the German Autobahn to be pretty good, except, I think filtering (lane splitting) is illegal, never had a problem when doing so, other than the occasional cager that tries to stop you sneaking through..  Dodgy

Most of the days are the usual mileage we do every year, first day is a biggy, even for us, but with just 3 riders we should be OK.  Smile
