Here's the $1000 question. Did you notice any difference in performance when first installing the K&N? BTW, I like the drain plugs. Just in time for my 24K service

Yes I did notice a difference. Throttle response was a little quicker and there was slightly more induction noise. There was also a very slight increase in fuel consumption.

I was just amazed at how clean the plenum was. NO dust anywhere. I expected at least some to be collected in the bottom below the inlets for the intake hoses. It was just as clean as when I used a paper filter. I like K&N filters ... some don't. Smile

The Dimple plugs seem like a great idea. Got them from Beemerboneyard.

Thanks for the input. I've been running a K&N filter on my old Ducati since 1993. In my application the airbox lid is removed for maximum flow, which adds to the amount of actual filtering going on. Not to mention the extra intake noise at full throttle Big Grin. With regular servicing, as in your video, it's still going strong!

Excellent Dave. Thanks for sharing. Smile Looks like you have to take off more than I do to access the air filter, but then again it might be easier to remove the tank than it is to remove all the cladding.

Super easy it's actually hinged, with a prop rod.

Even better. I am not a fan of the setup on our bike.

Our best setup was the K75S, the filter slid out the side.
Worst was the K1200RS. You had to remove most of the body work, then remove the gas tank.
I don't mind the R1200RS because you only remove three body panels.

The K1300S took slightly longer because it had two air filters.
