We're heading south & east tomorrow morning. We're heading to Northern Virginia. Going to ride the whole length of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Then we'll spend a couple of days terrorizing the Dragon. Dawn is super excited to put her new GS through its paces.

I envy all 4 of you. At least you don't have the blasted heat I still have to contend with even after my back heals up. Sad

To all have a great time on your trips.

Bruce keep an eye out for the police on the parkway. The parkway is patrolled by federal authorities and speeding fines can be very expensive.

A few of us are going to Ohio this July to ride some of the Windy 9 roads in Ohio.

Comfortable morning but called it a day at 1:00 when the temp hit 100.
In Torrington Wy. now.

What suits are you guys wearing in that >100 deg.F heat? I am yet to try my new Klim Latitude in this heat.

RE: Headed To Gunnison - Lee - 07-11-2020

Bmw GS Dry jackets. It's our best venting jacket.
Pants Klim Latitude.
Gloves Klim Induction.
We don't own any gear that's comfortable at 100.

Thanks Lee. I expect that it may be just as hot as my Klim jacket, since it is vented and not mesh. Is the humidity low there? If so them maybe one of the cooling vests might work.

The Gs Dry vents better than our Latitude jackets because the cuffs open wider and does not have a flap over the chest vents.

In Walden CO tonight.
Not as hot today because we were able to climb in elevation early. High was 86.
Tomorrow forecast calls for a low of 43 here and high of 97 in Vernal Utah.

210 between Laramie and Cheyenne was a nice road this morning. Don't think we have been on it before.
We picked up hwy 14 Pouder River Canyon at Ted's Place and took it to Walden.
A lot of kayakers, rafters and fly fishers in the river. All the trail heads for hikers were pretty full.

Wow! But at least the “feels like” was lower than the air temperature, which meant that humidity was low and there was a nice breeze. Here it’s the other way around, usually.

Big Grin
Right - this time of the year, routing seems to be in part, a run for altitude, before you cook. Route 14 - always a blast.

How's the traffic? In MO, feels like it's down about 40% from normal.

(And thanks for posting and letting some of us ride vicariously along with you.)

Traffic is lite because of the out of the way places.
14 was busy when next to the river because it was Sat.

The site has not let me post the last two days from my phone.
I have to copy pictures to my tablet, resize and then post.
