Bark Buster Extensions - Chris216 - 10-30-2020

Well, I've been running the Bark Buster Storms on my 1250 in the cooler weather. I've found that they're just a little too small for cold protection. I can have the tops of my hands warm at the expense of cold fingers, or vice versa. I looked for some add on fairings on the BB website, but they don't appear to make any for the Storm. So I took some thin ABS sheet I had lying around and made my own. Hopefully it will warm up enough tomorrow to get out and test them (32 degrees and foggy this morning Confused).

Great idea and a nice DIY solution! I don't see why they should not do the trick.

Any clearance issues, lock to lock, with the added material?

RE: Bark Buster Extensions - Chris216 - 10-31-2020

I did about 50 miles this morning, does seem to be an improvement. Last weekend was 40 degrees, with my winter gloves & silk liners and I had to fire up the heated grips about 10 miles in. When I got home my fingers were stiff and the finger nails starting to sting. This week, 45 degrees, same gloves no liners. I did 20 miles with out grip heat and probably could have done the whole ride with out. With grip heat hands were comfortable for the whole ride. I know this isn't what you would call "COLD" but it's as cold as I want to ride in these days Tongue.
Dave, I ended up trimming them for tank clearance at full lock. I have about 1/2 - 1" of clearance at the tank. Interestingly I had to trim more on the right side than the left. Not as asymmetrical as my R1100S but not quite mirror image either.
