I discovered this while looking to see if there were any problems with the new 1250s. I currently have a 2008 K1300S and a 2016 R1200RS. I’m thinking of getting a 2021 R1250RS.

Welcome aboard.

Nice progression. Lee will smile, as I suspect his current plans will follow a similar path.

I guess it all comes down to whether you can say, "It's only money." without cringing or catching a rolling pin along the side of your head....

Yep Smile Had a K1300S, have a R1200RS and might trade next year for R1250RS.

Same thing for my wife.

I had a red K1300S with full Acrapovic exhaust, loved it but thought I was going to need an old-guy bike to ride up to Nova Scotia. Traded it in for a K1600GT--was intimidated by the sheer bulk for four years and never made it that far. Just got my 1250 RS early December and while I still have only 400 Virginia miles on the bike, it's the best bike I have ever had. Riding is fun again.
I must say though it's unsettling to have the front end dip down at traffic lights--I still like BMWs with weird front-ends. Of course, I miss the old turn-signal switches, so what do I know?

With ESA I don't notice much front end like like I thought I would going back to forks.
Given the choice, I would go back to the old style switch gear.

I traded in a 2016 R1200 RS for a 2020 R1250 RS this past October, I have 1,000 miles on the 1250 now and I really like it. It was a worthwhile swap for me. I would say the differences are not substantial but they are noticeable.

Welcome to the board STOP.

I had both a 1200RS and a 1200RT until 2019. When the new engine came out in 2019 I went with a 1250RT. I do miss the handling capabilities of the 1200RS vs the RT but I really like the power of the 1250 engine. I currently have 17,000 mile on my 1250RT.

If I were to buy a second bike it would be the 1250RS.
