Greetings from the Netherlands - Wicky - 01-23-2023

Hello all,

My name is Rob and I am from the Netherlands. (54 years old)
Last year I purchased a 2018 R1200RS in the color frozen bronze.
Before that I had a 1200GS for a year but I couldn't really get used to it. Especially with the height my wife and I had problems, probably due to age  Rolleyes
I really liked the engine of the GS, so the RS was the next logical choice for me.
I adjusted the seating position of the RS with the Wunderlich handlebar conversion, this immediately gave me a familiar feeling as I had been riding naked bikes for about 30 years.
That I don't have to get used to the fairing is obvious, a little less wind is great, but now I have to keep a closer eye on the speed.

Kind regards Rob

Greetings Rob. Welcome to the group and RS ownership. I traded from my 2018 RT to my 2020 1250 RS for the same reason: it was too tall for my 29" (74cm) legs. By the way, at 54 you're a youngster. I'm 68. Enjoy your RS. It's an awesome bike.

Greetings! The Wunderlich bar conversion was a major ergonomic improvement for me (very similar to the "R-Bar"/Tubular Bar option that is now offered as a factory mod). Congrats and welcome!

Welcome to the Forum Community, Rob. Looking froward to your comments and experience with the RS.

Interesting that you seem to be able to adapt to the RS more than the GS. It is typically the other way around. Smile Still, some find the angle at the hips better as it does not push the seat loads straight up the spine. When I got my Tracer I used to feel a little uncomfortable with the upright position, but I soon got accustomed, and I have had back issues / surgery in the past. I still don't have any handlebar risers and at this point don't expect to fit any.

Enjoy the bike.
