Have you ever tried a Moka Pot? Seems like it might get you 95% of the way there without all of the complexity.

No I have not. I have no doubt that it makes fine coffee but the problem with a Moka pot (for motorcycle camping / travelling) is its bulk and the fact that it is only single purpose. The Nanopresso is also single purpose but it is significantly smaller.
