I am the proud owner of a 2016 BMW R1200RS, which I commute to work on, in addition to riding it for pleasure and as a form of therapy.
Over the course of ownership I have some across many instances where other motorcyclists - BMW owners included! - ask "What bike is that?" and "How do I like it?". Granted there are not too many boxer-engined sport bikes out there - none actually - so clearly there was a need to spread the word on this unique machine.
Having had some website design and maintenance experience I decided I needed to create a website to not only spread the word but also put all things related to my motorcycle in one place - kind of like a public filing cabinet.
I had this idea for some time, and it was only the closure of the most popular online forum (R1200RSForums.com) that forced me to do something with this idea of mine. So RSWasserboxer was born.
Mission
This is two-fold and simple: To increase general awareness of the liquid-cooled BMW RS boxer, and to create a repository of information on the model.
A collaborative effort
I see the RSWasserboxer project as a collaborative effort where RS owners and admirers can collaborate to support the Mission. The Forum Community is a great place to share experiences, ideas, intelligence, and all sorts of information. But that is not the only way to contribute. I would love to be able to host owners' DIY maintenance articles, video links, how-to's on installation of accessories, etc. - with full attribution, of course. Every bit helps - just contact me.
