I thought I had it, but am stuck getting it off. Just how far does it need to be disassembled? I have removed all the peripheral screw fasteners that I can find.

Lee posted several pictures so am still not clear which panel you need to remove.

I will send you an email and you can reply with the email and I will reduce the size and post it for you.

Meanwhile, please read this thread for some tips on how to reduce photos so that they would be accepted. These limits are necessary since (a) there is absolutely no need to the ridiculous file sizes produced by the average phone camera to depict the detail sufficient for a motorcycle discussion forum, and (b) big files take more storage space.

There is a very useful video on another forum, one I tried to join before this one. I couldn't join it because the admin seems to have lost interest. I'll post the link here if allowed. It's an excellent video, and helped me easily remove all the panels necessary, including the ones referred to here.

In fact the video is on YouTube, so in the public domain. It's here. By the time you have the fairings off that are covered by the video, the main side panel comes off easily.

Here is the photo that John wanted to post up. He sent it to me separately by email and I am positing it for him. I think that now he has a better idea how to post photos. Smile

It is hung up on the very front part of the plastic outer shield between the headlights.

There is probably an easy way.

I just can’t see it.

Go figure.

John

Did you get these 3 screws?

I find that the view from the parts fiche always helps.

I use the parts fiche pictures of body panels for two reasons. It helps me find the hidden tab or fastener and it lets me see where the different types of fasteners go.
If I remember right the body panels use three types of fasteners.

JOHN

The top photo in post #5 or the top photo in post #9?

John were you able to replace the piece?
