Yes, you missed us. We left Sparta at 5:45 AM for the long drive to upstate NY. Rats, would have been great to meet up with you. Perhaps you'll be able to make it to START next year? It's already on my calendar. ?

Wow, that's a great service he provides.

I agree. I wonder how his rates compare with the dealer, though. Personal touch is great and all but if his costs are significantly higher than the dealer then it may not make as much sense for some.

Easy enough to compare cost. There was no charge for this service.

Can't beat that. What's in it for him then, if you can say here ...?

I'm going to guess he's a good man who likes to help others.

Absolutely Lee. He truly enjoys working on the bikes and maintaining friendships from when he was riding. Brad's really just a great guy. I've gotten to know him and we've been to his home, visiting with him and his wife.

12k Service - Duccrazydave - 10-04-2023

Motorhead1977, that’s exactly the vibe I experienced, the few short hours i spent with Brad. Just a quick revision to the spec sheet from my pics. That should be Purolator filter #PBL10241, not 10421. Had a dyslexic moment, lol.

#Duccrazydave, I'm now using that filter based on Brad's recommendation. I had to modify the stainless bottom engine spoiler on my RS as there wasn't enough clearance behind the spoiler to use the longer length filter. Not an issue anymore.

How did you cut it?
I've been tempted to cut ours so it's not in the way when changing the oil filter.
Not sure I trust myself to cut a nice radius.

RE: 12k Service - Motorhead1977 - 10-05-2023

I marked the line and used it tin snip to get the rough cut, followed by grinding with a "Dremel" tool to get the radius smooth. I didn't cut it enough so I don't have to remove it, but only enough so it fits. I may change the cut to what you're suggesting.

Only four screws to remove it.

I'm really lazy Big Grin

I remove 3 screws and let it pivot down from the rear screw.

RE: 12k Service - Paughco - 12-17-2024

Just got a 12k service done on OXCART, my '22 RS, at Seattle BMW. I had made an appointment for the free final drive check and spline lube, and decided to bump it to the 12k service, minus the engine oil, final drive lube, and air cleaner services, which I done myself (thank you, Goat, for those excellent videos!). They checked the valve clearances and gave me a copy of the measurement sheet. They also checked all sorts of other components, which were all in the green on the green/yellow/red checklist. I also purchased five new aluminum O-rings for the engine drain plug, and a small bottle of final drive lube, and I was out of there for $499. The lady at the service desk said it would have been more like $1,100 if I hadn't done the engine, final drive, and air filter myself (YIKES).

It rained all day on the way in and was still going on my way back home to my secret HQ in the Snoqualmie Valley. OXCART ran just fine both ways, so, I guess they didn't screw anything up.

All in all, it was a good experience. The kick-ass coffee they have there helped.
