RE: 890 Duke R - runnerhiker - 01-27-2022 I am afraid I am one of those that turns around when the pavement ends. I don't have the skills nor the experience to do it. In 2013 I bought a WC 1200 GS, I had just moved to Colorado, I thought I would try to go past the "pavement ends" signs. I tried it a couple of times and I was scared and uncomfortable, found lots of gravel and not a lot of firm dirt in Colorado. I never did trail riding or motocross as a young man, a pity, others I have known that did that are better riders because of it. Definitely something to think about, thanks! RE: 890 Duke R - Grumpy Goat - 01-27-2022 (01-27-2022, 12:55 PM)Liteitup Wrote: hmmmm, a two for one swap. RE: 890 Duke R - Liteitup - 03-22-2022 First track day on the Duke this past Sunday. I think I'm gonna like this bike. RE: 890 Duke R - Lee - 03-22-2022 RE: 890 Duke R - Grumpy Goat - 03-22-2022 Nice work ... chicken strips obliterated! RE: 890 Duke R - runnerhiker - 03-22-2022 Way to go! I have never completely removed chicken strips. I have never done a track day either. But I have scuffed shoulders like that, just not that far, I have only done it once or twice and I probably won't ever do it again, I just don't have the nerve. RE: 890 Duke R - Liteitup - 03-23-2022 Thanks. Full disclosure.....some or most of that was because of bad body position. Seems I "counter lean", lean the bike too far over but keep the body too upright. This track day was a coaching class at https://sportridercoaching.com/ . It's the 2nd class I've done with them and third track day ever. Per the coach I brake too late and need to work on body position. Definitely learned stuff and got faster and smoother through the day. I also learned that I'm not nearly as fast as I thought I was, there's some guys and gals there absolutely flying. Same track, I believe same day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhBYKiA7vs RE: 890 Duke R - Lee - 03-23-2022 (03-23-2022, 04:55 AM)Liteitup Wrote: Same track, I believe same day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhBYKiA7vs Eagle Canyon? We go by that track two times a year. RE: 890 Duke R - Liteitup - 03-23-2022 (03-23-2022, 07:06 AM)Lee Wrote: Eagle Canyon? Yes sir. Little over two hours from my house. We stopped there once to watch a bunch Ducatis. RE: 890 Duke R - Liteitup - 03-23-2022 Yes, and it's closer to me. My track buddy is a member at ECR, so we tend to go there. Both are very nice facilities, ECR is probably a little nicer. |
