Most tires are good in the rain, but it is easy with our bikes to get the traction control to kick in with a little too much throttle even in the dry. Keeping the yellow light off in the rain requires dialing it back quite a bit.

I commuted year-round in the upper midwest on my previous RSes with ABS but without traction control. Enough throttle and the rear would break free in the wet, especially during the start of a storm in urban areas when the roads get greasy with oil. I've always switched out old, squared off tires with barely any tread left for brand new so I haven't ever felt I ever had solid A/B traction testing between sets of tires to tell which did better than others.
If I remember correctly Metzler Zs aren't super sticky in the wet and I could get those to start to get squirrely in the wet at a good lean angle without much effort. Hit a tar snake the wrong way in the wet and I don't care what you're on -- it's going to be pucker time.

Anyone have experience with Metzler Roadtec in this regard? Trying to remember what my last bike had, I think a previous gen of them. Didn't/doesn't BMW equip them as stock on the RS? Single ply but with multiple steel cord tension zones.
The Metzler Z8's on the 2020I just bought are starting to show signs of cupping at the center tread at 5600 miles. I plan on replacing them with Michelin Road 6 GT's as soon as possible...
