Interesting. Looks like the RS has a remote reservoir rear shock. The blue on the side cases doesn't seem to have much to do with the rest of the bike. No matter though. I'm not in the market.

Several different panel colors are probably available like the XR has.

Of the three new R1300 bikes, the RS looks the best to my eye.
The radiator covers on the R look too fat. It might look better in person.
To my eye the RT is butt ugly. The 1250RT looks much better to me.

Not cheap in the US.
The Red White and Blue with a rear rack is $24,865.
I didn't look if that includes destination.

I agree on the RT and that is a shame. They took the prettiest BMW and made it ugly. Maybe it is a "gotta see it in reality" thing ... like it was with the GS Adventure, for me. I also thought that bike was butt ugly from the pictures but when I actually saw it in reality it actually grew on me and I prefer it over the fat toad-like R1250GSA.
The RT has way too many panels and angles and the overall look is not one of harmony. It could benefit from an Italian re-design. The RS on the other hand is, as you said, the best looking of the R1300 bikes.
Potential buyers have to be careful though. They have pushed the handlebars more forward and - at least from the pictures I have seen - it looks like the seat may be further back. So, this means that the rider will be more stretched out and leaned forward, which would mean even more demand for bar risers. They do have alternate handlebars in the accessory catalogue. I think that if you are tall / long of torso and arms you can fit the standard setup. Seat height appears to be unchanged so maybe still a little cramped for some.
All in all, I think these bikes will be too expensive to be a sales hit, and that is even before any likely tariffs that will inflate US prices. Don't forget, the typical demographic for the RS and RT is aging out and any replacement riders would likely be looking for more value in a motorcycle, if they get one at all.

Probably does not include destination and in the grand scheme of things that doesn't matter to me since that is a fraction of the base price and is fairly even across all bikes in the class. The Red-White-Blue version is the mid-level and at almost $25k MSRP that is ridiculous. The Grey with Yellow version is the top level and goodness knows what they would be asking for that. My bike was top spec for just under $19k when I bought it, before panniers were added. Now they have electronically locking panniers and top box available so if that is included it would likely be closer to a $2k option.
Pet peeve of mine is ... for all this tech I do not hear of backlit switchgear. After owning a bike with that *and* seeing inexpensive Chinese bikes offering it, I find it unforgivable that BMW does not include this feature. Ticks me off, actually.

I agree about the RT panels.
The new RS would probably fit us because it looks similar to the K1300S we had.
Doesn't matter for us. We're close to being done with riding because of Debbie's arthritis.
This year for our annual Arkansas and Texas Hill Country trip we took the car.

You can go to the BMW site to see the prices.
Same as the last few years, you can pick the base bike or fully loaded. Can can't pick and choose options in the US. That last bike we could pick and choose was the 2011 K1300S. I think the only option you can pick is the rear rack. Same as in the past the side bags and top box are ordered from your dealer, not part of the factory order.
The RT will have side bags from the factory because side bags are standard equipment.
I'm guessing they will not sell many of the grey and yellow Option 19 bike because the colors and graphics are not very pleasing to the eye.

I heard about that. Sad. I guess Debbie doesn't want to be pillion? The RT should do that easily if you can get past the looks. Or you could get the R1250RT.

Both of us enjoyed taking the car. It was our first car vacation. We took mostly back two lane roads like we would on bikes.

Here's a comparison table I put together. No information on ergos, although the PR implies the 1300 will be a little more stretched for the rider. It also looks like the 1300 will be a bit sharper handling. Riding the 1300 will be really interesting.

Plenty of 3 week trips between 1978 and 1987 to the west coast, NE US, SE US and the Gulf, plus interior states.
After riding solo the last 37 years it might be difficult going back to 2 up.
We actually enjoyed taking the 3 week car trip this last month, so it's not the end of the world if we stop motorcycle travel

I believe that the RS has four colors available with blue being the basic, then there is a triple black, a sport version in white w/red and blue and then the 719 option color (which I forget how to spell). All the other color I believe are extra cost.
