Oil leak near starter motor - SoCalR1200RS - 05-01-2026 Hello! Giving the old girl a good visual inspection and I noticed an accumulation of oil around and below the starter. I’ll attach a photo below. Has anyone experienced this? I’m hoping it’s just a rubber gasket or something easy to fix. I’m keeping my eye on the oil sight glass but so far the leak is small to have no perceived decrease. Thanks! RE: Oil leak near starter motor - Duccrazydave - 05-02-2026 Looks like it's reference #6 in the print. Just an o-ring https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=57054&rnd=10232024 RE: Oil leak near starter motor - SoCalR1200RS - 05-02-2026 (05-02-2026, 04:11 AM)Duccrazydave Wrote: Looks like it's reference #6 in the print. Just an o-ring Thanks Dave! I should have just looked at MaxBMW first lol. Part #12 41 9 446 597 - O-RING - FKM 80HS 3,1MM Should be a very straightforward replacement. It looks like there is enough clearance to back the starter out without having to really disassemble anything. I’ll report back how it goes ?? |
