Looks like it was a nice holiday getaway for you two.
It is always nice when the significant other wants to go for a ride.

I agree. Although she wouldn't admit it I believe she had a good time. Am preparing her for the Colorado Ride In to which I suggested she fly in like Liz does. Big Grin Takes a while to set these things up ... Wink

Fun video to watch Wayne. I can only imagine after those great roads out of Helen, GA some of your miles around Houston, TX get a bit boring.

Thanks Darrell. I like how it came out and she didn't mind either (she never "likes" anything motorcycle related Smile) ... we both just wished that I took more still photos to add to the story.

Yes - after Helen riding around here is pretty stale, and one has to travel long distances to get to "Hill Country" where the riding is much nicer. Here in Houston the heat and humidity puts an added [negative] dimension to the experience, but if one likes riding as much as we do we still go out on the bike, even if it is to commute to work as I just did. I hit 100 deg.F (true) on the way home yesterday - luckily the ride home is just under 30 minutes.

Weather is brewing so it looks like weekend riding is a bust.

As I was riding in northern Montana yesterday with temps from 53 to 68 and humidity in the 40 % range for the 350 miles I rode on 2 lane roads; often posted with 70 mph speed limits, I got thinking about how much I did not enjoy the heat and humidity on my trips to Louisiana and the SE US earlier this year. Nice to be able to put on the gear and leave it on even at briefs stops. Thinking of you still working is bad enough but toss in a ride home in 100 degree temps with high humidity makes it even more miserable. But as you say we are out on our motorcycles. With your weather forecast I’ll try and get in a few extra miles just for you this weekend.

Darrell, Please keep a record of the good Montana roads. If I do the Alberta/BC trip before Dillon, will likely come in around either Glacier or anything east to route 4 Sweet Grass. Routing advice would be a real nice assistance for me.

More than happy to help you plan a route and even some unique places to stay. I’ve been out this way 12 - 15 times so know the US side pretty well.

Good on you, Wayne. My wife is of the same mindset as yours. Although she is now also dealing with Vertigo :-( Your video gives me hope that, at some point in the future, my bride will be on the Beemer once again. One of the reasons I made the RS choice was it's 2 up capabilities. Thankful that it's nimble enough for the twisties as well.

Thanks Dave. I hope that she does get over the vertigo, which from what I understand could be a transient thing.

Yes, the RS can tour 2-up comfortably provided one does it within its design limitations. Space-wise it might not do it as well as a K1600 or even an RT but the RS can do other things better. Great all-rounder. Smile
