Hello from Central Texas - Liteitup - 11-17-2019 Hello. I just registered, proud owner of a new-to-me 2018 R1200RS. I also own a 2013 Yamaha Super Tenere and a 2008 KTM 450 EXC that I've motarded. I had a 2005 Yamaha FZ1 previous to the Tenere. I look forward to learning more about my new ride from the forum. Welcome to the Forum and BMW R1200RS ownership. I am sure that you will find that it is a whole different beast from anything you own/ed thus far. From its unique boxer sound to its handling, including at slow speed, and great stability. I do like the Super Tenere and the FZ1, the latter of which I test rode one day when it popped up in my radar as a possible second bike. The KTM I had to Google to see what it was: Regarding the Forum - this is an offshoot of the website RSWasserboxer.com, which is dedicated to the R1200 / R1250 water-cooled BMW RS boxers. Readers are encouraged to contribute articles, DIY repair / maintenance projects, etc. I want both the website and the forum to be more technically focused when compared to other forums, but at the same time be a valuable one-stop resource for the bike. However casual reading and posting is fine too. So again, welcome to the Forum. RE: Hello from Central Texas - Lee - 11-19-2019 Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new RS. Are you in the Hill Country? My wife and I ride the Hill Country area each April. We ride the northern hill country often but I suspect you mean the area that includes the sisters, Leakey, Camp Wood, etc. I usually make it down there a couple of times a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. We get over there but we like the Boerne, Blanco, Llano and Fredericksburg area a little better because it's greener. |
