My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-10-2020 Hi guys, since I had a few requests I'll start posting some pics of my collection. I'll start with a couple shots of all of them and then try to get individuals. It may take me a while, so bear with me. RE: My Bikes - Duccrazydave - 03-11-2020 Absolutely love the Kawi! My first street bike was a '82 LTD 1000 K2. Spent most of my time trying to make it handle and go fast. I used to run Metzelers on mine as well. The whole family of engines 750/1000/1100 are bulletproof and easy to service & modify. Always wanted the Holy Grail of that era, the Eddie Lawson replica That Super Hawk is a beast! RE: My Bikes - Ray - 03-11-2020 Very nice.... And not a tool on that floor. Thanks for setting the good example at several levels. RE: My Bikes - Lee - 03-12-2020 Nice. Lets see a picture of the R1100S. RE: My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-12-2020 Ok, I'm traveling for work right now and only have my lap top. I could have sworn I had a bunch of pics of the S on here.... I can only find a few with the screen and mirrors off. when I get home over the week end I'll post some more, but here is a teaser. RE: My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-12-2020 Don't know why it did 3 of the same pic LOL! I'll try again RE: My Bikes - Lee - 03-13-2020 Nice RE: My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-13-2020 Time for the GPZ, I bought this in 82 strictly as a race bike. Ran it in west coast club racing, won a formula 1 championship with it. Also got it on the podium in Formula USA, back when it was truly run what you brung. RE: My Bikes - Olgry1 - 03-14-2020 Nice bike! So you have been going quickly for a long time. Kudos RE: My Bikes - Ray - 03-14-2020 (03-13-2020, 05:27 PM)Chris216 Wrote: Time for the GPZ, I bought this in 82 strictly as a race bike. RE: My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-18-2020 OK, time for the VTR, this is one of my all time favorites. Bought it with 900 miles on the clock and immediately rebuilt and blue printed the engine. Moriwaki high comp pistons and stage 1 cams. ported heads with good quality 3 angle valve job. Lightened flywheel. Moriwaki Ti full exhaust, carb and airbox work, APE cam chain tensioners and more. Chassis, Dymags, Ferrodo racetech 320mm disks, Gold valves and springs in the forks, Fox twin clicker. 445 lbs wet = fun. RE: My Bikes - Duccrazydave - 03-19-2020 Wow. Excellent detail work on the Super Hawk! I bet it's a beast, as it was pretty stout in stock form. "Beer can size carb throats", as I recall from an old Cycle World article RE: My Bikes - Olgry1 - 03-19-2020 Gorgeous Bike. I can imagine the sound and ride on it! RE: My Bikes - Rotorwrench - 03-19-2020 Love the GPZ. I was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island, WA in '82 and my good friend was from Everett. Spent a lot of time on the weekends riding his bikes. Also spent a lot of time at the Kawi shop in Everett drooling over the GPZ's. I was about ready to pull the trigger on One when I was so rudely given orders to Japan for 3 years. That's another story for the Honda fans. RE: My Bikes - Chris216 - 03-23-2020 OK, last bike, the Dunstall Norton 750 I am in the process of restoring. This is a (very) long term project, I work on it every once in a while when I have time out from other projects It's actually a little bit further on than this, but I can't find my most recent pictures (must get more organized). RE: My Bikes - Lee - 03-24-2020 Thanks for the added pictures. |
