Might Be Done Riding For The Year - Lee - 11-12-2021

When we ordered our bikes in August I had my fingers crossed they would be delivered in time to do the break in miles and 600 mile service before the snow flies.
It worked out.
Had the 600 mile service done on the 2nd bikeTuesday and having snow flurries today.
I doubt we get any accumulation, but I bet the DOT is out spraying the roads.

Stabil in the gas, battery tenders plugged in and bikes covered.

This picture reminds me I need to get that snow blower in the main part of the garage Smile

Lee, shouldn't the license plates on the beam under the panniers be located on the far wall ahead of the corresponding bikes? But then its kinda dark under there ... Big Grin

Can I ask how your garage works? Are they on a lift?

I went for a ride at lunch and then hit a road where they had pretreated with brine. Snow is on the way tomorrow.

I headed home and gave it a wash so I think that's it until the spring.

Our garage really confuses people Smile
The previous owner built a extension to the main garage for his Model A.
The extension was accessed from the back yard.

He later built a shed in the back yard for the Model A and added a platform in the addition to store wood for his wood working projects. He also added a sliding door in the main garage to access the platform.

When we bought the house I added supports to the platform so we could park the bikes there.

It would be perfect if the platform matched the garage floor level but I didn't want to move the steel I Beam.

Thanks for the pics. It's definitely unusual but makes for a nice setup. It's an ideal bike spot.

When we looked at the house the extension just had the steel beam and some cross boards, but we right away thought bike storage.
I added the plywood floor and two 4x10 wood beams for support.

Lee, that is a nice setup, can never have too much garage space.

Got that right. I moved from my 2 bedroom apartment with a 900 sq ft heated and AC'd garage with running water to the house my wife owned with a 250 sq ft garage. That's how she knows without question that she's "the one". Oh, and the fact that when I say, "I bought a new bike/car" the only thing she says is, "what color is it?" ??

The things we do for love....

All things with time. I am fond of the line from Delmore Schwartz's poem, "The True-Blue American" - “Both: I will have them both!” declared this true-blue American."

Good luck.
