Scrambling - ESquared - 03-20-2022 Nice, mid-70s day in KC today, enough rain this past week to wash off (most of) the salt dust, so the Scrambler XE came calling. It's all the adventure bike I ever see myself needing or wanting, and it's a very comfy, fun machine to ride. The March winds were ever-present (steady in the 20s MPH, gusts above 30), which gave me just another reason to look forward to whatever wind protection I can get from the inbound RS. This Scrambler is super-naked and tall, which makes for good 'wind training' I guess. Lots of bikes out and waves exchanged, except for a couple of Spyders, who couldn't be bothered (seemed odd). Anyway, a fun couple of hours and another early season tune-up ride before the RS arrives! RE: Scrambling - Motorhead1977 - 03-20-2022 Sounds excellent. Still haven't had enough heavy rain storms to clean the sand and other winter crap off the roads in this part of the world. RE: Scrambling - runnerhiker - 03-20-2022 I went for a ride yesterday and today, roads are clear and dry in the foothills around Boulder and Fort Collins, the lakes and reservoirs are all filled with water, to the brim! Temps in the 60's. Snow in the forecast for tomorrow, though. RE: Scrambling - Lee - 03-21-2022 Our roads have not had a good rain to wash off sand and salt. We leave for Texas in three weeks and with the temp at 70 I decided to take both bikes out for a short 25 mile ride to check a couple things. First time out since the first week of November. Also got out for a 20 mile bicycle ride. Strong head wind at times but I don't get any exercise if I always have a tailwind |
