Honda NT100 - maxredline - 04-10-2022 I think this bike may someday be in my future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQlMS5Bzctk RE: Honda NT100 - wessie - 04-10-2022 I have not ridden one. It is derived from the Africa Twin and I was underwhelmed with that bike. It will have a tough time competing with the other Japanese makers who all have very competent sport tourers at a similar price point, but with more cylinders. I did try to get a ride on the new Suzuki GSXS1000GT but dealers do not have any demo bikes as the factory is still trying to fulfill pre-launch orders. I don't think Honda have had that level of interest... RE: Honda NT100 - Grumpy Goat - 04-10-2022 (04-10-2022, 05:52 AM)maxredline Wrote: I think this bike may someday be in my future. Taking a cue from the title of the video, I think that was definitely a boring video. Interesting for about a minute then ... As for the NT1100 ... I too think that it is a nice bike that I would be interested in, and that comes from my feeling that Honda is the ultimate left-brain motorcycle company. Their philosophy is different from any other manufacturer on the planet, I think, and they unswervingly stick to this philosophy in every bike they make. The NT1100 is another example of that. It is likely exquisitely put together but not to where that fit and finish drives the price through the roof. The bike is very handsome although not stunningly gorgeous as say an Italian bike would be. It looks like it would be a perfect sport tourer, even if not the fastest one out there, but is sport touring focused on speed only, or is there a balance to be struck? The engine is certainly large enough to ensure adequate punch even two-up, while delivering all day cruising at decently low, non-irritating rpm levels. It is offered with DCT - no one else does that. I would love to see one in the flesh and to give it a try. RE: Honda NT100 - maxredline - 04-17-2022 Really I am not offended by the bb500x or the NC750X dct. RE: Honda NT100 - Pyrrho - 04-17-2022 A vlogger I follow, Schaaf*, thinks it's more a touring bike than sport tourer, mainly because of the suspension. https://youtu.be/RpoksA4NkQs * If you've never heard of him, he works for a bike dealer and takes out bikes in some of the most beautiful roads in the world and vlogs it. Rides like the bikes were designed to be ridden, with a focus on the sound -- separate mic system in a tail bag he straps to the back of each bike he rides. If you haven't seen him on an RS, I think this is the best riding of one I've seen recorded on public roads: https://youtu.be/ejLLlshzr0U |
