The R1200RS of the London Metropolitan Police - Grumpy Goat - 06-05-2022

Some nice screengrabs of the RS from today's video of the escort for HRH Prince William and Family.

Very nice Jubilee celebration, BTW. Classy as expected.

Blue lights on a blue bike. I'll get some in a few years when the market is up.

Motorcycist in a motorcade.... Reportedly, not a great job - other than getting to ride. One of the fellows I trained with was pretty severely injured while riding a lead motorcycle for a presidential motorcade in DC. Something about one's ability to stop DC traffic with a 2-wheeled vehicle.

Were you there?
My impression is that good Canadians can still appreciate a brush with Royalty.

In the 2nd picture it looks like the bike has a GS Possum Scraper, front fender extender and a Avant Guard.
Sure would be nice if BMW had a similar City Lid available like the police bikes have.

Unfortunately I wasn’t there but would have loved to have been.

I was raised in a British colony, then emigrated to Canada, a so called Dominion of the Commonwealth whose head of state is the Queen. Yes it’s old fashioned and all that but I have great admiration and respect for the Queen, even more than the monarchy.
