R1250R vs Moto Guzzi V100 - Lee - 06-07-2023 https://youtu.be/3SFy1uNbiOM Surprised to hear the Guzzi has enough vibration to cause some hand numbness. I see the R has the optional solo seat. So far I have not seen this on the R or RS on any dealer websites in the US. Their reviews are from an enthusiast's perspective and are useful and practical as is typical of European reviews, with not too much superficial marketing style BS; this is due (I think) largely to the fact that motorcycles are more used as primary transportation over there. As for this comparison - it may not be comparing like for like, IMO, with the 1250R since the RS is a more direct comparison to the Mandello than the roadster. But a lot of the aspects are comparable so it is fair. They both chose the BMW for practical purposes, but this is the first iteration in the Mandello so surely improvements will come, and from what I gather that could come as quickly as the first update. While I too was surprised to hear about the handlebar vibration, I was surprised that both seemed to think that the Mandello's clutch / gearbox / quickshifter was less smooth that I was expecting. Both great bikes no doubt. |
