No rear rack - 2023 RS - thechamp 73 - 07-09-2023 Ok, what do I do? I do like the BMW look of the rear rack. I have a soft bag I want to strap. I saw it for sale for 371 on a dealer website. Very expensive. See pick attached. The "1" part, don't I already have that? Anyone get a 2023 and put on a rear BMW rack? RE: No rear rack - 2023 RS - Motorhead1977 - 07-09-2023 Not unless your bike has the large passenger grab handles. My buddy's 23 RS didn't come with the rack and does not have the part #1. RE: No rear rack - 2023 RS - Duckbubbles - 07-10-2023 I hated the look of the "horns" at the rear seat and broke down and purchased the complete luggage rack. I would rather have had the heated seats deleted and the rack installed. That is my only gripe so far. Same thing for 2023. In 2022 it was only a $175 option. Same thing for 2023. I guess it makes less sense for a sport bike than a sport tourer, and BMW does market it as a sport bike. They probably thought that if people were going to remove it (and some do) then why not sell without and have them buy it, so offering it as an option makes a lot of sense, but no option is dumb. They do make such decisions from time to time, in my opinion. RE: No rear rack - 2023 RS - Mark - 07-12-2023 If your riding solo, may be you can strap the bag to the rear seat. LOL If you look for a used one the R1200/1250R uses the same rack. The R1200R needs to be a liquid cooled model. RE: No rear rack - 2023 RS - Freddyfruitbat - 07-15-2023 When I changed my 1200RS to a 1250RS last year I had this exact issue... in the end I didn't trade in 1200, I sold it privately and the two bikes overlapped in my garage for a week... I used the time to switch over the rear ends of the two bikes before I sold on the 1200! |
