At first, my sentiments exactly ... so I went to the link to see what it was all about and saw the other image:

And the response was the same.  Big Grin

BUT why the heck not ... I am sure that lots of people will buy it. Apparently those with money need to spend it and BMW is just assisting them in that quest and making them happy. Harley does it every day with their "merch" ...  Big Grin Big Grin

Most likely will be most interesting for those riders without a TFT (that can already show directions).

Made by BMW Motorrad, and no word about use in cars, but is that "D" in Grumpy's pic for drive?

Initial retail 690 Euros.

Right.
Don't get me wrong - those who've see my head on a swivel, taking in all the sights, know I would benefit from a heads-up display..., but glasses are not going to cut it.

Makes sense in a HUD I would think.

HUD in a pair of glasses? Me thinks it's a bit too much. "Just because you're able to do something doesn't necessarily mean that you should."

I think that D is for drive.  That is for an automatic transmission car. Bike-specific glasses would likely have a gear indicator.

This is not for me. I had a 2009 Corvette, had it for 10 years, it had a HUD that I used for about 2 weeks when it was new. Then I turned it off and left it off.

I like my S4s hud, considering the tech on these bikes a hud could improve management without taking eyes off the road as much.

But I wear full face helmets or modular with drop down sunglasses, not sure how well glasses would work for me without pinching.
