Sluggish acceleration above 5000 RPM

Posted on the old site - asked my mechanics about it. The 2016 bikes started arriving without the circlip.
Speculation was that its omission was intentional and from the engineers, to allow some additional, needed freedom of movement.

I had the shaft service done last Tuesday.  The mechanic said the c-clip was installed on my bike and he's never seen one without the clip.  More fodder for the confusion........

(So, was there some corrosion and looseness at the U-joint to explain the vibrations? Do they persist after service?)

The mechanic showed me the old shaft.  Both splines were rusted to the mating splines and required some effort to separate (according to the mechanic).  As for the universal joints, one side was noticeably less flexible than the other.

Relative to effect on ride, the bike is smoother rolling on and off throttle.  In 5th and 6th gear, there's less vibration.  I'm still experiencing vibration around 4000 RPM in 3rd and 4th.
