Wonder what that company does with year old helmets that were returned? Can't sell them.
It's too bad the pads for a costume fit are not included.
Surprised he did not mention the Shoei chin guard was not as safe because it came loose 30% of the time in the Sharp tests.
https://sharp.dft.gov.uk/helmets/?manufa...c+2&type=1
I would rather have the Sena 20 instead of mesh.
Mesh costs more, does not last as long and I don't ride in groups.
If we did ride in a group I would not want to listen to all that chatter
Our helmets are 4 years old. Maybe we'll keep them two more years to see if Shoei has a new helmet that fits and maybe Schuberth will have the cheaper longer lasting Sena 20.
I like not having to charge our helmets every day on a trip.
After two days we're usually at medium power remaining.

C4 Pro, the helmets speakers are not as good as my earbuds, no surprise but less fuss.
What is a surprise the helmet is advertised as quiet but it howls on the freeway. First time I thought the horn was glitching on.
The European online sites are undercutting everyone and with their service department in disarray due to employees moving on for what ever reason.
I think their management team needs a change from the top down.
They need to get their shit together. With the C5 I hope they do but I am not holding my breath.
Sad.
Update; I talked to a local rep and they said that they did have some personnel changes but more due to geographical moves on Schuberths part. Not sure if its true but might explain my support communication problem and at the end of the day they are making it right.

The Netherlands seem to have good prices but even better selection. Before ordering I email with their support to make sure they will help with a return for a replacement if necessary. They won't pay the whole shot which is pricey but they will chip in to make it palatable.

I would do exactly the same if I were buying overseas on something where fitment is a comfort issue.

I woke up to an email from Champion, the hi-viz helmet you ordered isn't available yet. Want silver? Or cancel?
I cancelled.

Someone posted today on the MOA FaceBook page.
Just got off the phone with Scuberth NA. My dated C3 had a slight malfunction with the internal sun visor. Although out of warranty, they are sending me some parts to repair it. Great customer service.
Schuberth will be at the BMW MOA National Rally ( Springfield, MO) in June with the new C5 in all sizes for us to try on. I've been waiting for this helmet for years.

I know this post is about the new C5 but darrell did mention customer service and his C3. I just want to comment on the customer service I just went through with my C4pro. After some internal problems with Schuberth that took some time to get resolved it finally has and I now I have a new C4pro being shipped to me at no cost. BTW I just keep using the helmet with its flaw until I jumped through the hoops.

Received my C5 from the Netherlands last night. First impression, this thing is nice! The interior material feels nicer than my Arai. All the features work as described. I didn't order the Sena SC2 but after seeing how it integrates into the helmet I'm almost regretting that decision. I just recently changed to a Packtalk Bold so I passed on the Sena built in.
One big disappointment, it didn't come with the custom fitting pads described in the ads. I've sent Champion an email, but rereading some of the info I'm not sure I interpreted it correctly. Or they changed it. It may not matter, fit is really close out of the box. I have a long oval head, the only helmet I have found that works all day is the Arai Signet series. Wore the C5 around the house, freaked the cat out and got called a Martian by the gf, only the slightest pressure on my forehead after 45 minutes or so. I suspect it will be good after break in. Might need slightly larger cheek pads, we'll see.
I'll report back on Champion's response.

I'll report back on Champion's response. Having bought the helmet from a European distributor, does it have a DOT sticker on the back?
I knocked, but the door was open.......

You would have to be having a really bad day for a LEO in a helmet-required state to give you hard time. Some rider safety training classes might require a DOT sticker, but I've also seen those waved.........

What size Signet do you wear? I think I would need the thicker cheek pads (I buy two sizes over for my XL-Signet), so am also interested in hearing what Champion has to say about providing you thicker pads for the C5.

I wear an XL SignetX, 20mm cheek pads, 7mm upper pad.

Not good news, just received this in an email:
Thank you for your email, this is correct that Schuberth announced this however on production they longer included these extra pads with the helmet. You can purchase extra pads I know some stores sell them, we however do not sell these.
In case you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
My reply.
That's disappointing, as it was my main reason for purchasing the helmet. My bad, I suppose, for not checking before purchase. Fortunately, the helmet fit is really close out of the box. Any suggestions for pad purchase, should it become necessary?
Thank you for your quick response and clarification,
I know, not confrontational at all. I like the helmet and it seems like the fit is good. I've never been able to find a modular I could wear more than a couple of hours so I'm going to keep it.

Totally understandable that Schubert needs to cut some corners to keep the costs down on their helmets ...
