Hello - from North East UK
#5
Hi thank you for the welcomes.
Yes, big diference between them. Tiger is definately more upright. Just had a 235 mile round trip yesterday and found my wrists ached a bit - not unbearable tho. Thought that I had got used to it having done nearly 900 miles on it before this ride. May have to look at getting some bar risers for it - will see how I get on over the 4 day trip to the North West 200 races later this month. No numb arse like I was getting on the Tiger after a couple of hours, but guessing a seat upgrade could have sorted that. Must admit I preferred the triple engine, but wanted a newer model bike and the wife said don't get anything with less power Big Grin so the 900 was out of the question and the seating position for her as pillion on the new Tiger 1200 wasn't right, also I'm not into the 'adventure' style bikes.
Saw the 1250RS at the motorcycle show last year and it appeared to fit the bill and the seating position suited the wife. Getting used to the low down torque of the boxer now, thought the Tiger had plenty but the boxer is in a different league.
I am a a big Yamaha fan from the 2 stroke days (also, currently own an RD350YPVSF2 - very modified) but far as the Tracer GT goes an awasome bike let down by that stupid looking new dash Huh.
Was hoping that Triumph would have brought out a new Tiger Sport based on the new 1200 engine, but there has been no news on one appearing.
