The Dynamic ESA suspension locks the moment you switch off the ignition; it won't compress or extend. The solution is to leave the ignition on (use the kill switch to kill the engine) then get off the bike and let the suspension extend, or even pull up on the right handlebar to extend the suspension, then turn off the ignition. I think you'll find the kickstand is short enough.

I agree, but I find the above only works if you switch off the ignition in Neutral. Leave it in gear and switch off and the ignition and it does not come up.
