BMW crash bar compatibility with lower engine fairings
#1
For a variety of reasons, I chose the factory crash bars.  BMW's parts fiche says they are not compatible with the RS's lower front engine fairings.  A simple notch makes them compatible:

Very nice solution. In the case of the 2016 RS which I have, the solution was not so simple when I installed my (SW Motech) crash bars as the fairings on that bike were entirely different. Only solution was to remove them.

Good point about the year -- mine is a 2023.

Thanks for the clarification.

These are the Wunderlich bars along with the plastic engine fairing  pieces to replace the shiny stainless steel:

I added a set of the Wunderlich sport crash bars to my '18 RS sport with the brushed metal lower engine fairing and those bars allow me to have both.
I keep trying to add a photo but it's not taking from my smart phone. I'll have to do it tomorrow when I'm on my big computer .
