2019 Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT SE
#1
Little secret ... when I was shopping for my second bike in 2015, I was looking for a 4 cylinder sporty touring bike. I was not thinking BMW. One bike I fancied was the Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT but when I found that it had no cruise control, that was a deal breaker and I never even test rode it. I then happened to test ride (by accident) a 2016 BMW S1000XR and was smitten for a while ... handlebar vibration at cruising speed killed off that dream.

This bike checks most boxes (but not in that colour), although the panniers still seem a bit smallish, and the MSRP of $18k a bit of a challenge. Finally Kawasaki has woken up.

It has a nice assortment of standard equipment. Are you still thinking about a second bike and if so what are you looking for in the second bike?
I had RTs and a S1000RRs at the same time which met travel and speed needs.

I am keeping an eye out for a second bike and it would have to be significantly different from the RS. This means that the subject bike is likely not going to make the cut since it is a sport touring bike and the RS does that job admirably.

I am looking for a combination like what you had, which makes a lot of sense. In my case maybe not an RR but, if I could afford it, an S1000R. I am presently into naked 4 cylinder bikes ever since I rode a 2017 Aprilia Tuono. Big Grin Something like this:
