Steering Damper

Hi Folks, am new here. Live in Hong Kong and I have been trying to source the Ohlins SD051 steering damper for my R1200RS. The original needs replacement. No joy at all. Any help and/or potential links would be hugely appreciated. Anyone using any other aftermarket damper like the Matris or the Hyperpro...verdict?

Not sure of your sources but stateside Hyperpro has this listing. Certainly less impact on the wallet than Ohlins and Hyperpro is a known, quality brand.

Shows that this item is "out of stock" on Ohlins website, https://www.ohlins.eu/en/products/motorc...051--5419/, so doubt if any dealer has it. You have an older model so like Akrapovic, Ohlins probably doesn't make this steering damper any more. Another state side possibility is Yacugar from Ted Porter's Beemershop, https://www.beemershop.com/product/yacug...ninet.html.

Thank you. Much appreciated. I have ordered a Hyperpro from my local distributor in Hong Kong. I missed out on a Japanese auction site that sold a brand new Ohlins SD051 for a pittance.

I recently rebuilt the original steering damper on my 2106 RS. Easy to do if you can source the correct seals. Found a video by Kirk's Motorrad about how to do it and would sell the seals.
