BMW Fuel System Cleaner
#1
Since I have not been able to ride for the past 5 months, I thought that it would be a good idea to run some BMW Fuel System Cleaner through the RS. The mixing directions state that a full bottle(20 Oz) will treat up to 20 Gl. The way that I see it, 5 Oz should do it for a full tank. Does that sound about right?

Not a bad idea to use it a couple times a year.
The important thing is to use non ethanol fuel if available when the bike sits for long periods.
I use Chevron Techron because it's available at Walmart and parts stores.
I don't bother measuring it.

Thanks Lee. How much do you dump in your RS?

One size bottle I have treats 12 gallons. I put approx half a bottle in both bikes.

One size bottle treats 15 gallons. I put a full bottle in each of our cars.

Don't let anyone know I don't use the exact recommended amount Smile

Yes, sounds right for the BMW stuff.

I use 4 - 5 OZ of Chevron with Techron Fuel System Cleaner when I add cleaner to the full tank on the RS.

I'm telling ... Big Grin

I don't believe that you can overuse the stuff unless you add a gross amount over what ratioing would suggest. I have also added using Lee's cavalier approach Smile and there were no ill effects. I measure so that I don't was the does per bottle.

I rode by my local O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store and they have a big poster in the front window advertising buy one, get one free of the Chevron Fuel System cleaner. Not sure if O’Reilly’s is nationwide.

Good to know about the BOGO Free deal. Their website store locations shows all states so they appear to be nationwide.

It's probably nation wide, I have seen the same at our store in the past.
