Mice, Motorcycles and General Storage Areas
#1
Mice and motorcycles don’t mix well in the northern or colder states when those little furry creatures decide to look for a warm place to spend the winter. Areas like garages, homes, storage sheds, RV’s, tractors, trucks, etc are great spots for these creatures to hang out and raise a couple of litters of young over the colder months. Instead of setting traps and then having to remove the dead ones using a couple of pouches of Fresh Cab will keep the mice out. I use 2 pouches in a 3 car garage and change late fall and late winter leaving the old pouches up when I put the new ones up as some scent (perfume smell) still exists. I hang with a zip on the garage door rails. Safe to use in your home, basement, cabin, etc. You can buy at your local farm store, hardware store and likely on line. Ace Hardware todays price was $19.95 for a box of 4.

I know Kari the inventor and owner of this business. She is married to the former IT manager at Ryt-way Industries where I last worked. Production plant is located in Faribault, MN.[attachment=905][attachment=906]

I'll have to give these a try.

I have traps all over my three car garage. I haven't trapped one in over a month now. There was a run in June, July, August I was snaring 4 a week. Always the same trap, first one from outside.

I toss dead ones in the driveway and let the local hawk feed on them.

I use the old style "killer" traps baited with LAVA soap shavings. Works better than peanut butter.

Last week, I was mowing grass down at the farm and had to open the lawn tractor hood to clean an electrical connection. There on top the battery stood a mouse. I had been mowing for over an hour.
I knocked, but the door was open.......

I used to own a pest control company. Bait is the only way I would go. Contrac blox are the way to go. I live in the woods, 4 traps around the house and never have an issue.

All good advice.

The purpose of the balsam oil is to create an environment that repels the mice and rats. Sensitive little rodent noses don't like pungent smells that overwhelm their senses and don't allow them to smell at sufficient distance, food or my dog or cat.

Bait is good if I want the animal to come to me or my trap. I use balsam oil, pepermint oil, cinnamon, and the like when I want them to stay away from my machinery.

For what it's worth, I remember one experiment in which we used rat urine to study fear in mice.... All depends on what you want the bike to smell like when you start it up.
