Hello from Santa Maria, California. I am on the Central Coast. Just purchased a 2018 R1200RS and have already started the mod process. Looking for fellow riders out this way. Our town just recently opened up a BMW Motorrad shop in our relatively small town. Looking forward to meeting some local riders in the area.

Thank you. Have watched almost all of your videos and looking forward to doing all the mods and most of maintenance myself.

A beautiful area for riding.

Good to hear of a shop opening and not closing.

The RS is one of the better designed bikes out there. Though modifying bikes is a hobby in itself, unless that's a major source of enjoyment, keep in mind that all modifications take from our wallet and riding time. I was amazed at what I didn't have to do the RS to make it one the best-fitting and safest motorcycles I've ridden. (My list: Metal pegs, sport seat, tank grips, LED signals, and some Clearwater lights front and back.)

Of course, you'll find all sorts of links to smart modifications on the forum.

Enjoy.

Great. And if you take some photos and maybe video of the mods, please consider sharing.

We spent the night there in 2000 after a day of going around and through wild fires.

Welcome to the forum.
Nice picture
Additional lighting up front and out back are nice safety, though expensive, modifications.
