I change every 6,000 too or annually if more frequent. I'm surprised how dark the oil gets in that time.

No significant debris on the magnetic plug.

My first FD oil change was pretty black, but over the years it has cleared up a significant amount. Now it is darker than original but not much. I did upgrade the magnetic drain plug with one with a stronger magnet, and that clearly (no pun intended) helps.

I suspect this is the same thing Wayne. U.K. site.

Other than the first change ours has usually drained out fairly clear on the last few BMWs we have owned.
The K1300S had the same big hole final drive as the R1200 and R1250.

Yep, that's it. Highly recommended for both plugs.

Yep, that's it. Highly recommended for both plugs.

I've order one, and a 'Gold' sump one too. I've only just done a service but I'll redo the final drive and swap out/top up the sump one. Thank you for that.

They're out of stock (both final drive and engine drain plugs) @ Beemer Boneyard so I signed up for notice when they're available again.
Happiness comes not from what you have, but from enjoying all that you do have no matter how much or little that may be.
