Last September purchased the Rever program when it was half price.
Played with it last fall and when I loaded a route to the GPS I thought I picked the Turn by Turn option instead of Tracks.
Yesterday when making some routes I noticed when I selected turn by turn I only got a straight line on the GPS.
Rever recommends using the Tracks option. When I use Tracks it seems to work.
I do not see the waypoint flags on the route but they are there.
I actually like not having all those plans on the route.
Anyone know if I have a bad point in the route will the Garmin skip to next waypoint option work?
I've never used Tracks before. I always thought that was a off road tool.
Can you think of any problems using tracks?

Ray might be the only one here using Rever. Then again, with changing platforms at both REVER and Garmin...., might be no one knows the answer outside the usually helpful nerds at REVER.
In the past, I was successful for a while at loading .gpx files directly from REVER to the memory card on my NAV5 as tracks, then pulling up from memory into a route - which worked as long as I didn't allow the re-calculation, which gives the straight line.
As you might have seen, REVER finally got the button operational (after 2 y of promise) for a BMW NAV-specific download of data to the Garmin.... I tried that last summer, but ended with a straight line. I never bothered to contact the REVER folks to see what gives, figuring they would hear from others and get the bugs out. Will try again in a few weeks.
Meanwhile, I cleaned out the Scorpio alarm/GPS system (that is now sold as REVER Ride) from under the rear seat, and bought a nice helmet that I will use for a while to see if I still "need" a sound system.

The Track button worked but not the Turn by Turn button.
I emailed the Nerds and will probably hear back Monday or Tuesday.
I went for a 110 mile loop (really a 110 mile square  )to try out the route.
It appears the Garmin does not use the waypoints. Maybe a track is one continuous line or breadcrumb trail and does not need the waypoints to make the route in the Garmin.
There is no Skip to the Next Waypoint button on the Navigation screen because there's no waypoints to skip.
I made several wrong turns to see how it acted with Auto Recalculate shut off. When I went off coarse it did not do anything but I could still see my magenta line and my location so it was easy to know how to get back on coarse.
I turned on Auto Recalculate and tried another wrong turn.
This time it looked like it recalculated me back to the beginning of the ride.
I stopped the route and restarted it and it was fine.

Thought I'd update the thread.
Although Rever has had the BMW button for 2 y to provide an easy interface to Zumo, NavV and VI, it remains inoperational. One must still download to Garmin as a track, pull up the track from the app "tracks," and then using the wrench, convert the track to a trip. Settings for re-calculation of route need to be turned off. One then needs to go to the app "trip planner," pull up the trip and load the trip. If recalculation is turned off, you will now have turn-by-turn instruction.
My main reason for using the Rever app is the ability to apply the latest overlay of the Butler maps, which includes areas not yet on paper. I have a goal to ride as many yellow ("gold") routes as possible. Fairly accurate, I have only been on dirt roads twice this trip for a few scenic miles.

It sounds a little clumsy but it's not bad to use.
I had never used Tracks before using Rever.
I like the Butler map overlay and I like doing a route on my desktop and still be able to see the map on a tablet or phone during a trip.
I'm going to check and see if I can get Rever again for 1/2 price like I did last year.
Can't remember if the MOA discount is good for renewal.

Ray, can you see the Butler overlay on a tablet or phone using the Rever App?
I noticed on this last trip when creating a ride on a tablet I can't see the overlay while working on a route.
I have the Butler maps turned on.
Just now I saved the Rever website to my tablet and that works.

I am sure that even with all this great technology I would still manage to find a way to get lost.

That's why I always travel with paper maps
I don't think I will ever get to the point of completely trusting the GPS to get me where I'm going.

When they replied back I mentioned I can see the Butler maps now if I use the website on the tablet.
He mentioned neither the app or website are optimized to use with a tablet.
It worked for me so I'll continue to use the website on the tablet when I'm on the road.

The bike registered 115 deg F in eastern Washington.
Part of the adventure. The loose fitting Rallye suit and some ventilated gloves did the job. Anything above 105, I find more clothing with good ventilation at 60 mph does the trick. Pretty sure I was more comfortable than folks sitting around outside. ("Only mad dogs and Englishmen....")
Good thing I packed my heated vest. (Though on general principal, I plan to use it for at least an hour in Colorado on the way to St. Louis.)

Some tablets are more computer like than others. I currently use a Microsoft surface go 2. No problems at all.
