Weird flashing on the dash display

In one of the more informative posts on the FB BMW MOA Group, I was intrigued by this issue, which was actually resolved. Culprit was the lithium battery being overcharged.

I don't think that you have to be a member of FB to see this post.

Did you try the link and it did not work? I have to ask because I am on FaceBook and so I automatically get on.

I believe that it was an AntiGravity Lithium battery that was initially changed to something like 16V.

I did try the link and it worked fine for me. I did not have to do anything other than click the link.

Thanks for the update on the type of battery and the initial charge on the battery. I have a Shorai battery and have used the Shorai charger for their battery.

Yes, I know. I thought it was interesting that the battery would have been sold to him with that high of a charge level in it. Reminds me of the Nav VI heebie-jeebies ... Dodgy

Moral is don't put a 16V battery in your RS.

Years ago, the R/R took a dive, on my Ducati. Started sending out 15.8VDC to the system. In this case the battery was an innocent victim. Never heard of a battery being overcharged and holding that voltage, as in the OP
