Greetings from NY

Hello all, brand new on this site and look forward to being part of the family. I'm literally about to pull the trigger on a 2022 r1250rs after riding a Yamaha FJ 09 for quite some time.. Of course a littler persuasion here will help me expedite the purchase!

The bike sells itself. If after taking one for a test run, you need additional persuasion or applause from other riders, I'd recommend re-thinking your purchase.

Though I personally found the bars perched a little high above the seat, I always liked the look and the general feel (and price) of the -09 and Tracer.

Have fun.

We'll hope for an early spring for you this year.

As Ray said, the RS sells itself indeed. Take it for a good test ride and you’ll see what we mean. It does it all. Fast when you want speed, slow when you need to ride like it’s a scooter, excellent long distance tourer, great to work on if you are a DIYer, and good fuel economy as well. Not to mention bags of character.

As you’d see from my signature my other bike is a Tracer 900 GT, and while I like that also, the old RS is still the boss.

Thanks, I'm sure I'll love this bike, I enjoyed the FJ but am ready for the upgrade. Sadly I can't find any dealers with inventory to test ride so will just make the purchase, I'm confident I won't regret it.

I'm located on Long Island, about 25 miles east of NYC.

Glad to hear that you have the bike at last. Any photos? What accessories have you installed or intend to install on your RS?

I added the Engine covers directly from BMW.. ordered a Givi top case mount (since I already have a Givi TC from my other bike) and ordered handlebar risers. That’s it, at least for today!

Very nice. I also have a Givi top case that I use on both bikes.

Welcome!! One test ride on the 1250 RS did it for me. Gave up my 1200RT in a flash.
Happiness comes not from what you have, but from enjoying all that you do have no matter how much or little that may be.

Congratulations on your purchase of the best damn bike nobody knows about. Did I read the dates on your posts correctly -- you ordered in Feb and took delivery in March? Was that a fresh build from Munich or a transfer from another dealer?

I actually ordered from MaxBMW up north, it was still on the ship at the point in time, I placed my order during the middle of a snowstorm and took about a month and a half or two until it arrived.

@esquared - yes tell me about it, I have about 250 miles on it so far still waiting for the weather to break but loving every moment and can’t wait to take a long ride
