NC Back Road Pizza Run
#1
The first sunny day in a while coincided perfectly with a rare weekday afternoon with no client responsibilities. I took full advantage and rode to Milton, NC for a quick outdoor lunch. Both the RS and I enjoyed feeling the winter sun on our faces while I ate. Only 150 miles, but NC back roads, 60F temps, and amazing pizza are a perfect winter combination.

Ah yes, Millie's! Great pizza, stromboli, calzone, etc. About 1-1/2 hours from the house. But all of 4 minutes from the campsite, at VIR. Have to get there pretty early, to catch dinner, when the MotoAmerica event is taking place :-)

Are you planning to do the MidAtlantic Ducati Owners days at VIR in May?

Nice getaway. I was able to ride 2 hours yesterday, 45 deg and dry, clean roads in the foothills near Boulder. But it's snowing todaySad

No matter what I try, the clear and sharp photos I start with always turn blurry when posting.

You have to reduce the file more than normal on this site so the pictures lose a little quality when posted.

Pics looks fine after I reduce the size... They only look blurry after uploading to the site.

Not necessarily. It depends on the software. Just use the JPEG format, reduce it to 800 px wide and the corresponding height (maintain aspect ratio), and set 80% quality and it will be fine.

Trianglerider - email me one that has such an issue and I will demonstrate. Also, please check out this Announcement post.

Most of the time I have to use a smaller file here than any other site.
Anything larger than 500 kb will not load.

Yes that is correct. Pictures displayed on websites do not have to be bit-heavy to convey the detail needed on a web page. You will find that 500 kB is plenty, while larger bit sizes are a waste and actually cost more money to host. When it comes to printing high quality photographs at frame-worthy sizes, however, 500 kB is not enough. Photography and web design were hobbies of mine long before motorcycling. Smile

Yes I know it cost you more. I wanted to make sure he knew about the 500 kb limit.
When my pictures are down to 300 or 400 I notice the lose of detail.

The 500kb is not a problem. My pics are well below that...they just lose sharpness when they get posted. The hanging red and white sign, for example, is easily readable in my resized pic prior to uploading. Maybe the hosting site is adding compression? GG..will email you the pic I posted.

Yes some sites will automatically compress but I don't know if Wayne's site does it.

I went back and looked at some of my pictures here and my reduced picture looks clearer on my computer than it does on the website.
