The other rides.

This is what keeps the RS company.

The WR250R has a 14l Safari tank and their matching fairing on it. I had buddies telling me to get a KTM because fast. I realized that if I had the KTM under me, I would soon be riding at KTM speeds. And I don’t heal like I did 25 yrs ago. Combined with no maintenance outside oil and filter changes until 41,000 km ….. the little Yamaha won out.

The ZRX is an ‘04. I Picked it up last fall in Vancouver. I thought I wanted a green one, but after seeing the red I realized it was a modern version of the GPz I always wanted but never could afford. I had just spent a small fortune on it over the winter when the RS popped into my field of vision. I love the looks of the ZREX but after the full Muzzy system, the Ivan’s jet kit and the 4 deg advancer mileage plummeted into the mid-twenties per gallon. I really don’t like being the guy that forces the group to go look for gas.

My other ride, currently undergoing a refurbish of sorts, is a 1987 Honda VFR400 R in Rothmans livery. Quite the little piece of temptation and torture for my not so gradually getting older body. No pics on in this computer but hare are a couple of videos shot with my buddy "Magoo" in the saddle. I'll add a picture later on.

Happiness comes not from what you have, but from enjoying all that you do have no matter how much or little that may be.

My other ride is my 4runner, which I plan on running into the ground and see if it ever dies.

Only had the RS for a few days. What got me onto a BMW was a gorgeous black R9T that I bought when the sales guy offered me close to what I paid for my 3 year old FTR1200. The other bike in the garage is a KTM 690 enduro that has taught me that I am no longer fast and most of my dirt skills are also in the past.

Now I'm confused. In your introductory message you said that you had a 2022 R1250RS and the above said that you only had it for a few days ...  Huh  So you had the RS and now you don't but have an R9T ...?

Sorry if I was confusing.
I bought the 690 a couple years ago to downsize from a bigger adventure bike. Last year I stopped into a new BMW dealership and traded my FTR1200 Indian on a R9T because I was tired of the poor fuel mapping and the sales guy offered me way more than he should have on a trade. About a week ago I was killing time while getting new tires on the 690 and was at the same BMW shop. I saw the RS and at first considered trading the R9T but my wife actually convinced me to keep both and just buy the RS. So at the moment I have a KTM 690, a R9T and a new RS.

Sometimes my sleep deprived babbles are not nearly as coherent as it looks to me at the time.

Your posts made sense to me.
I'm guessing Wayne missed your post in your introduction thread yesterday where you said the R9T was your first boxer.

No, I got that. However, the confusion came later when he subsequently said he only had the RS for 2 weeks without the clarification that he still had the first boxer, i.e. the R9T. It is now clear. Smile

My other ride is a 2018 Z900RS Cafe that I bought new. My '24 R1250RS has been ordered and will be my first non-Kawasaki since 1976.

This is my other ride.. although, maybe not for long as I need space in my garage, which sadly, is really only big enough for one bike.  Dodgy

So you like red, huh? Big Grin Cool looking XR. First BMW I ever rode / was in love with … until I decided it was not going to work out. Then I bought the RS on the rebound and didn’t regret that decision.

That seat looks hard.
