Great idea. Who did the modification?

Now that does not look bad at all ... mild scallop to the seat should be OK for me and they look plush. Where did you get it done? Can't really make out the label.

Ding, ding, ding!!  We have a winner!  Rich's is just a few miles, and a ferry ride, away from me.  He widened the seat, raised it, put in a gel pad and moved the pillion seat ledge back.  Oh, and put on a nice leather cover. The stock seat wasn't the worst seat I've ever had, but the ledge on the pillion seat was a little hard on my back side and tended to make the man in me a little uncomfortable.  The bump on the rear of the tank was clearly put there by evil Bavarian trolls.  The new seat is like a new bike.  There's more leg room by sitting a tad higher and a little bit farther back.  It sits very much like my FJR now (that also has a Rich's on it) if just a bit more forward leaning.  The downside is the cost.  Rich extracted $1150 for the job.  But, in all fairness, when you figure shop time (virtually all day) and materials, as well as the fun of hanging out with Rich at the shop, it's not out of line.  It will get a real test next week when I head over to Baker City, OR for a rally with some of my FJR riding mates.  There will be some long days in the saddle, but I don't expect any issues.  If I have one complaint, it's that the leather is a bit slippery, but that's a really small nit pick. I'm pretty happy with the job at this point.

I have not had a problem with my standard seat but did buy this from amazon
for my pillion. I wanted to remove any potential complaints before they arise.
I use air to fill the pillows but I think you could use water as well.
Cheap and easy though I do not know how it would hold up to everyday use.
I have had it for 2 years and only use it for longer rides with the girlfriend.

Thanks for confirming that.
