What is perhaps more interesting is that the 2024 GS will still be a 1250 despite the launch of the R1300GS on September 28, 2023.

Maybe they will bring out a 2024.5 model much as they did in 2017 with the 2017.5 GS model.  Same engine in 2017 but some small revisions to beak, air intake and a couple of other minor changes.

Maybe, but I'd have thought that with such a radical re-design (new engine, new features, new/sleeker bodystyle) it would be a full year model. This suggests that either it is not ready for production and/or they have enough major 1250 parts in stock that they need to turn into bikes. I guess we'll see.

One thing is for sure is that there will be no R1300RSs in the dealerships until after the R1300GSs have been selling for a while. So maybe late 2025 ...? Gives them time to freshen the bodystyle as well as add a couple more commonsense features like backlit buttons and a better windshield setup.

Production of the new bikes start in August and BMW plans to introduce the 1300GS September 28th.
There may be a couple months of the 2024 R1250GS then the 2024.5 R1300GS.
The latest info on the new GS showed the engine size as very close to 1300 cc.

Ice Grey (unchanged) may be a misprint. There was no ice grey RS in 2023. There was a ice grey 2023 R1250R
When you go to Build Your Own 2024 RS it shows Light White like there was on the 2023

I noticed the BMW site does not show a 2024 S1000XR.
I see the XR bikes are listed in the Sport class. I was thinking BMW had them in the Adventure class before. To me they should be in the Sport class.

I'm going to guess 2025 for the GSA and RT, then 2026 for the R and RS.
The Wethead GS came out in 2013. I think it was 2014 for the GSA and RT, then 2015 For the R and RS. I don't remember seeing a RS until late 2015.

Production Feb 2015.
Release May 2015.
I have a 2016 built 8/24/2015 - already with upgrades like the lean angle sensor.

Looking at the 2024 R1250R on the BMW site, it looks like no ESA again.

I would have liked it that way when we ordered our 2022s.

Chrome is now a stand alone no cost option. It will be interesting to see if dealers order the RSs with chrome or stainless for their inventory.

Either way, the standard muffler is a "blunderbuss"...

Someone mentioned he did a build on a 2024 RS exactly like like his 2023 and it was $1,600 more.
When I did the same thing today the 2024 was $1,920 more than my 2022 Sport.
