Hello, I’m 69 years old. Happy to make all your acquaintances. Had an R1200C from 2000 to 2007and a Yamaha FJR1300 2007 to 2023. Bought my 2023 R1250RS in Feb 2023. FJR was too heavy at my age. Love this bike. I’m a golfer, a Corgi owner. Happily Married 40 years. That’s about it.

Welcome to the forum. I'm also 69 and in 2018 downsized from a GL1800 to a R1200RT. Then downsized again in 2021 to a 1250RS and couldn't be happier. What color is your RS and what farkles have you added? Post a picture when you're able.
Happiness comes not from what you have, but from enjoying all that you do have no matter how much or little that may be.

Mine is white. I added Wundrlich bar risers (came with tubular bars), and valve cover protection. Also Akropovic carbon black exhaust. That’s about it. It came with the premium package so it’s got about every factory doodad there is. I’m really happy with it. I’ll post a pic after I learn how.

I think you'll love your 1250RS. I also had an FJR, mine was 2008 model, no cruise control.
This bike is just the right size and with all the electronic goodies.

Hi guys . My RT's brake lines collapsed, then waited too long so gelled my tank. Loved that bike. Wife no longer wants to ride with me, always enjoyed putting the windshield down with only the top box so I thought I'd try an RS this time around. I'm 71. My grandmother bought me a 305 scrambler for cutting my hair in high school, then in 93 I had a R100GS mystic red. In 98 I added my R1100RT boston green. Just hauled a new loaded light-white home. Ordered a full 3 piece set of H&B Xceed racks and cases, but I have to wait a month for the racks apparently. Meanwhile will be lurking here. Hope to find the ultimate screen I'm 5'7".

Bags came in from NL Chromeburner in about 3 days free shipping best price unbelievable. They (the bags) are impatient however, looking for a couple of racks to hang out with.
Hepco&Becker make good bags. I had not seen the Xceed bags before.

I wonder if the turn signals will need to be relocated.
