Does anyone have any experience with genuine BMW stickers, i.e. the ones for the model name / number on the side panels that you buy from the BMW parts fiche?
Are they simple peel-and-stick or are they the kind that you wet the panel and apply the sticker (like a transfer) wet, slide it into place and then squeegee out the bubbles?

I bought one for my K1200RS from BMW but never used it.
From what I remember it was a reverse setup like this video shows.

On my sticker there was a paper backing and also a paper over the sticker.

I used to have to apply those double sided stickers to aircraft. I have a plastic scraper to get the bubbles out (furnished with many of the decals). Many recommended to use a mild soapy solution to apply. Wet the surface with the solution, peel the backing off and you can slide the sticker around to the position you want. Then use the scraper to squeegee the air out before carefully pulling the top layer off. In 24 hours (recommended) it is good for a couple hundred MPH.

Seems like a lot of stickers can use soapy water if you use a plastic squeegee tool to srap put the water.
I've done this with 3M film and MotoReflective films.
