Option 719 Pictures
#1
There were two RSs at the Best Western we stayed at for the MOA National Rally in Springfield Mo.
One bike was a 2022 with all the 719 stuff except the mirrors.
I didn't order any of that stuff when we ordered our bikes because I did not find any good pictures.
The first bike had the Billet Pack Shadow II color.

The foot control do not come with billet mounting plates like the HP parts used to.

Continued

I did not get a close picture of the black 719 wheels.

The other RS had the grey 719 wheels.

Not a RS accessory but another accessory I had not seen before in person was the 49 liter S1000XR top box.
I normally don't like the looks of large top boxes but this one had a nice sleek shape and looked much better than the boxy 49 liter RT top case.
I looked at his rack and we looked at my RS rack and it did not look like it would fit on a RS.

Here's a stock photo.

If you stayed at the BW Route 66 Rail Haven in Springfield, there were two more RS's parked around in the back row of rooms.

My 2016 Lupin blue and a black 1250 that curiously never moved till Sunday morning.
See you somewhere down a twisty road

We were at the Best Western Coach House and I think there were nine RSs there.
We saw more RSs at the fairgrounds than I expected. Several rolled in Thursday morning when we worked registration.

Thanks for sharing photos of what Option 719 bits look like for the RS.

The white bike in the BW we stayed at (top photos) has one funky looking low seat. Must have been a really short rider. I saw a guy staning next to it talking to people but he was probably taller than me so maybe he was not the rider.

The only things I like on the Option 719 are the wheels but I definitely don't care for the billet blue lugbolts and axle trim on thepicture above. I don't mind the levers. Rest of the bits are things I would probably want to remove and certainly would not pay for. But to each his own. Smile

Agree that the sleek BMW 49 litre topcase looks not bad. Certainly looks like it would be a little more comfortable (leaned back) for my pillion than my present Givi 47 litre topcase. Alas, the topcase + pad is base $682, and looking at the fiche is it not clear if that includes everything above the rack.  Rolleyes

The rider ordered the RS with the low seat. He had short legs.
The blue pieces on the other RS are not Option 719 pieces.
Here's more pictures of his Lupin RS.

I know that the blue bits were not Option 719. Now that you showed his Lupin Blue I can fully see his taste. Big Grin

My 2019 S1000XR was the last year for the Gen 1, model year 2020 begins Gen 2 for the XR. The BMW panniers and top box is the same mount for the XR Gen 1 and the RS (both 1200 & 1250). That's a Gen 2 XR you pictured, that top box won't fit the RS.

Indeed. Only a 30 litre topcase is listed for Gen 1.

Why do you think the carbon fiber is fake?

I could be wrong since I have not seen all the CF parts there are, but I have never come across thick glossy CF before. Real CF I have seen is typically matte and thin. The shiny thick stuff is plastic with CF finish. Even if it were real, the gloss finish is what turns me off; for me gloss belongs on paint not on CF.

Thanks. It does help and explains the differences I was alluding to above regarding 100% carbon vs carbon+fibreglass or carbon-look plastic. I personally have no issue with matte 100% carbon but there would never be any glossy fake carbon piece on any bike I own. That's just me. Wink

Gloss is a popular carbon fiber finish.
Carbon fiber comes in Twill and Plain weave and both come in gloss or matte finish.
All the 100% carbon fiber we have purchased in the past was gloss finish.
I think matte finish carbon fiber would look odd on a bike with gloss paint.

All the carbon fiber that BMW sells that I have seen had a gloss finish.

Here's an example of IImberger carbon fiber sold by BMW.

The BMW carbon fiber wheels on a friend's RR are gloss.

This may be true but we can't all like the same thing. Big Grin

Some of us like grey / black bikes with matte finishes ...

Speaking of which I saw a very glossy metallic red Indian at the Edelweiss Inn when we met there before the Rally. Unfortunately I did not take a picture as some other cruiser was parked next to it and the angle was crap. Gorgeous bike and I told the female owner as much. Not too much crap chrome and no CF. Now imagine that same finish all over an RS ... all down to personal taste. Big Grin

I agree.
I misunderstood when you said you had never seen gloss carbon fiber.
