I have the Condor wheel chocks and same experience. Put the front tire in the chock and it holds the bike upright so tie down is easy and safe. "Wouldn't leave home without one" ?

Excellent info all round. Thanks Phil. I did wonder about stowing the large ramp pieces afterwards, especially such that they don’t flip over and onto the bike. I would think that movers blankets would be useful. No doubt the Kendon trailer solution is best and it was good to see how both you and Ron managed this the last time we met. For me, the tow is not an issue as I often tow my 30 ft 7500# travel trailer. Good to see the mileage is not that much different with my old Sierra.

I'd guess 8ft ... why? ...I have no free wall space. I was thinking the ceiling. I have always had storage for the rarely used stuff above my vehicles.
8 feet probably won't cut it - especially if your garage door takes up a lot of the overhead space.
I'm guessing that you don't live in one of the neighborhoods where a motorcycle trailer will look fashionable sitting in the yard.....
This is why U Haul does so well. You can rent a lot of motorcycle trailers for the price of ownership.

This is very true. Yes, my HOA would not like anything like that parked in the yard. The thing that gets my goat the most is that, even if I had a nice flat driveway and was not on a circle, I would not be able to park my 30ft travel trailer so that I could maintain / modify it. The HOA would have something to say ...

I walk it up the ramp under power and tie it down on the lower forks and a second set of straps for the back. I never gave the ESA any thought, ignorance is bliss I suppose. Anyway, the bike never moved and I never had to tighten the straps. YMMV and all that.
This is my experience also except that I have done a lot more. I have a Kendon single trailer that is 18 years old and has about 12k miles on it. My 1200 RS and my current 1250 RS behave identical to bikes without electronic suspension when it comes to strapping down on the trailer. So I don't see any point in fooling with the ESA for trailering.

These are available in the UK (I think they ship worldwide but guessing that might be prohibitively expensive) and a friend swears by his for a GS:

I had seen this an similar and this is what I was hoping to get over here but no such luck. I think that you in Europe have much nicer selections.

Have you asked the supplier about shipping? You never know, the fact that they offer it might suggest it's a cost-effective proposition, especially with the currently appalling (for us!) USD-GBP exchange rate!

Looks similar to Trailer In A Bag available in the US.

Naw ... lost interest after deciding on the U-Haul solution for now. Too low on the priority scale. Working on getting the wife onto her own motorcycle which would mean getting a whole 'nother bike. No money / need for a bike trailer.
