Schuberth’s New C5 Helmet

I tried on a C5 at the National last week.  To make the XL fit, I needed about $100 in extra pads.  I was thinking that at the National they would be willing to swap them out for minimal charge.  Nope.

That, the ratchet strap, and having to pay for built-in Senna speakers (that would likely get thrown away) made it a no-go for me.

That about sums it up for me also, when I tried it on at the National in 2022 - didn't fit as good as the Shoei helmets and appeared to be extra cost to make it work. I don't think I should have to pay for foam pads at that price point. The built-in Sena speakers were not an issue for me at the time since I was thinking I'd just stick with Cardo JBL speakers and the Cardo system. I sort of prefer the ratchet straps, or anything other than D-ring straps, actually ...

I just wasn't thrilled about having to pay for features I didn't want.  Stock pads and speakers that would go in the trash and a bunch of antenna and mountings for a comm system I don't use.

Having only two shell sizes doesn't help with their sizing.

It wasn't the deciding factor, but the rep making a big deal about how sealed the helmet is got me thinking about this FortNine video:
