This is a response to a question what I have done for unusual items on the bike now with 90,000 miles. Just installed the 13th set of tires but probably not unusual. Fork oil was changed at 50,000 and will do again at around 100,000 miles. New rear brake pads and battery at 70,000 miles. Battery tested fine but I just did not want to deal with a battery issue when traveling. Front brake pads are original at 90,000 miles. Below are the warranty items. Those without a cost were completed before the 6 year, unlimited miles after market extended warranty started after 36,000 miles of BMW warranty. The cost listed on the later items is what the extended warranty company was billed (parts and labor) and paid the dealer.
Warranty Items ($560.83)
7735 miles - replaced pannier racks
11725 miles - replaced right fork seal
22788 miles - replaced right front fork
22788 miles - installed ABS Pro
82677 miles - replaced clutch dual microswitches ($134.36)
82677 miles - replaced low beam 2 pin connector ($110.19)
90200 miles - replace front wheel RDC sensor ($316.28)
When the riding season ends in Minnesota I’ll do a complete recap of all bikes services, tires, warranty items, fuel usage, insurance costs, etc for the mileage at year end.
