Yes. In my case (and others), the foot peg vibration was a failing proximal universal joint on the shaft. Buzzing was initially intermittent at only higher RPM. All resolved - including the abrupt roll-off - with replacement. If the proximal swing arm hits high temps..., time to put the bike in a trailer.
Unless the failing cardan damaged the transmission, the dealer is not looking at a lot of time to evaluate and replace.

Initially, I was hoping it was engine vibration. However, after two tanks of gas, it's getting worse and occurring at most speeds and RPMs. So, I'm keeping the bike off the road and looking for a dealer that will look at it sooner than 6-weeks from now.
Going anywhere will be on a trailer.
